Closer Still!!!
HERE is the current draft of the thesis for
the first paper for publication. Some things remaining to be done include:
- Finish the Map (Figure 1) (STILL)
- Get the intro chapter into shape
- Rework pagination (so that everything fits into one PDF file)
As you can see, things are proceeding. I look forward to making the final
thesis file available once it is accepted.
Previous Info 04 Jan 2000: Happy New Year!!!
We're getting close now. HERE is the current draft
of the thesis for the first paper for publication. Some things remaining
to be done include:
- Work the Results, Discussion and Conclusion sections
- Check the references
- Finish the Map (Figure 1)
As you can see, things are proceeding. I look forward to making the final
thesis file available once it is accepted.
16 Nov 1999: Added the link to the R Notes pdf file below.
Yet another update to the chapter. I've added pagination, made one
big file from all of the smaller ones, so one simple download will
be all there is to worry about. This will print out far more nicely,
and the graphics are still in colour. The map information is still
outstanding.
Jaap: As previously, you can download THIS file (194 kb),
to the PC, and print it to the laser printer in the lab. I have started
on the second chapter, borrowing much from the relevant sections.
Friends and colleagues: This will open just fine in Linux using gv,
or even the xpdf reader.
At this point, I'm aiming to get the paper into a state where it
will be acceptable for thesis submission, rather than aiming
initially for submission to a journal. We've worked hard on this
paper already, and it should be in good form now ... not much
reworking should be necessary before we can send it to the
other committee members for comment. Additionally, not getting
these papers published would effectively cost me any hope I have
of starting a Ph.D. in the next couple of years. Rest assured that
I have every intention of publishing, as that is the single reason
why I decided to remain in the city after these four years.
